seventeen - easy on the eye | the big smoke palette

Oh my goodnes... how gorgeous is this packaging. This is one palette box I definitely won't be throwing away! New to the Seventeen make up range this spring is the EASY ON THE EYE* - the big smoke palette which features 8 matte shimmer and pearl powders, 3 amazingly metallic creams and 1 clear eye primer along with a brush (not a sponge tip!) mirror and get the look guide!

The first thing I noticed about this palette is that it looks very similar to the sleek palettes which I used to hoard when I was in college. There are two easy on the eye palettes, this one which has more of a range of colours and Birthday Suit which is a lot more nude based (obviously.) Also being a graphic designer, the font on the palette really pleases me.

Another great thing on this packaging is that they actually name all the colours and tell you on the back of the palette what they are, a lot of cheaper brands don't bother with this which makes it hard to recommend shades to friends or talk about them in tutorials.

The first four shades in the images above are as follows: Twilight Blue, Onyx Black, Cocoa Brown and Slate Grey. These are the perfect four colours for a look all on their own. They are very pigmented, creamy and no fallout which is a pet peeve of mine!

The next four shades here are Smoky Marble, Cloudy Lilac, Wild Khaki and Warm Ivory. The wild Khaki has a small amount of shimmer that isn't overwhelming on the eye and I love how pigmented the warm ivory shade is, it even shows on top of the darker shades making it great for blending with!

These are the final four in the palette, Cool Aluminium, Pink Flush, Illuminated Bronze and a clear eye primer! These are simply amazing for such an affordable palette (£7.99) they can be used alone or under the other shades to create a different shade effect. The bronze is my favourite as it totally makes my eyes pop! I love that it comes with it's own primer too because you can just pop this palette in your bag or wash bag and have everything you need to create a gorgeous look.

Finally you are given a really handy little card that helps you create a really pretty look for beginners. I am bowled over by the quality of this Seventeen Palette and will definitely be picking up the birthday suit palette next!
