Rimmel Apocalips | Review

I picked up my first Apocalips Lip Lacquer from Xtras when I noticed it for £2.49 (free postage) and it was a pink shade! I couldn't resist! The shade is called Apocoliptic - loving the puns here - and is a rich deep pink. After falling in love with the formula and pigmentation I decided to buy another shade, this time in the shade Stella.

I love the doe foot on these and wish all lip stains came with them! It has a little dip that collects just the right amount of product so that when you wipe it against the opening it only take off the excess, not all of the product. It also means it deposits just the right amount of your lips as you apply it, the only thing that I don;t like about these is that it can create quite a harsh and obvious line around the edges of your lips, so I like to blot afterwards with these.

As you can see, they are super pigmented and you need to be really light handed when applying, also regular teeth checks are a must even with blotting as these babies like to transfer, if you blot enough times, it should stop transferring onto mugs etc, but I wouldn't say these were kiss proof! The swatches here are showing them a little more red then in real life, but it's the best lighting I could get. I'm definitely sold on these, and I want to buy more of the shades, they do a lovely purple shade called Out Of This World. Keep your eyes out on Xtras for more current drugstore products for less then half the price, but in the meantime, you can buy these in Boots and Superdrug for around £7.

Do you have any Rimmel Apocalips? What do you think of them?

  2. I have never really liked any of these, I find them a little too stick for my liking which is a shame because the shades are all so vibrant x

    1. That's a shame, if you blot them out afterwards they leave the colour but loose the stickyness x

  3. I have two of the shades, but I have heard as well that they do like to transfer, haven't had a problem yet though.
