Being that I put my blog forward as a Beauty, Fashion and Lifestyle blog I should probably do more of the fashion side, but to be honest, it's not my forte. I wear what I like, but the moment I have to photograph it or describe why I'm wearing 'this top' with 'those jeans' I don't know where to put my arms, or my legs.. or any other limbs. So when Marisota invited me to take part in their SS14 Style Challenge, I was like LETS DO THIS!....And then realised I did not read the instructions quite as carefully as I thought! *weeps* I requested the Jacket to find there are three items of clothing they're rolling out at random to bloggers to style and I fell in love with the biker style spring jacket (Oh my its Georg!) But alas, I was sent probably my least favourite of the three pieces. A long, Leather front skirt. When I opened the parcel I was like OH NO, how the hell am I going to style this!
|THE OPTIONS: SKIRT | JACKET | BLOUSE|
At first I thought, my lip print shirt and my new boots.. sadly to discover that thanks to Christmas / past three months, I no longer fit into that shirt.. which sank me into that 'I hate everything in my wardrobe and nothing fits me' depression. Anyone else have those.. or just me? Safe to say, Challenge was the right title for this! To be quite frank, this skirt doesn't suit me. It accentuates my larger bottom half, and is not forgiving in the stomach department, but finally I found a way that I was happy with it. making it shorter. Once it got above my knees instead of being a long pencil skirt, I liked it ALOT more, think I'll be getting Mother to help make that a permanent feature of the skirt. Without further ado let's get to those cringe worthy, Serena how do you make standing still look so awkward, photos! Drum roll please.......

I tried it with my converse style shoes instead and loved it, look at that model class posing! Over all, I think I probably failed this challenge, but that's what it was! A CHALLENGE, and even though I didn't like the skirt in its 'natural' state, I gave it a bit of a Serena twist and rather liked it!

Thank you Marisota for inviting me to take part in this Challenge, all jokes aside, I had fun, and would love to take part in more 'non leather skirt' related fashion challenges in the future!
