Blogger tutorial #1 - image size

Did you know I have a page dedicated to blogger tutorials? You can check it out here. Throughout 2014 I will be adding more tutorials so that you can tweak your blog yourself, with minimum effort! My first tip of 2014, is image size! Having all your images one size makes your blog easy on the eye, and look more professional. There are two ways to do this, one is to edit all your photos before you upload them so that they are the same size, for example I make all my photos 690px wide. OR you can add a tiny bit of coding to your blog that will re size them for you (win!)  Here's how:

STEP ONE:
In your dashboard, click Template then Customise.

STEP TWO:
Click Advanced, then Add CSS.

STEP THREE:
Paste the following code in the box, you will see your image change to 690px wide, change this number until you are happy with the fit within your blog.

.post-body img {
width: 690px!important;
height: auto!important;

STEP FOUR:
When you are happy with the size of your image then click Apply To Blog, wait till you see Template Applied and then Go Back To Blogger.

Lastly, and this is just a tip to make everything tie together, I suggest you take your photos with a 'GOOD' camera, if your using your phone, and then blow your photos up to 690px (or whatever you chose) using this code they are going to look pixelated and weird, so the better the camera, the more professional your blog will look. No need to go out and buy a large SLR, a small digital camera would serve you great, just use your judgement and don;t use this code if it makes your photos look poor quality.
