I am not one of those girls that must buy a new winter coat every year. I buy one and then wear it till it falls apart at the seams, sew it up. Then wait for it to have a second death, admit defeat and look for a new coat. Why? Because I find buying a coat, hard work. I get attached to items of clothing. The last time I properly bought a winter coat was three years ago. A parka from LaRedoute that I bought with the EMA money I was getting from College. I think it was about £45 and it has lasted really well. The only problem with it now is that it looks massive on me, which is odd as if anything I've put on weight rather then lost it since college! Also the elastic that holds the fur onto the hood has started to go solid and snap so I have half a rat handing off one side if I wear it. I tried it on last week and thought, 'Serena, It's time!'
I tried of a couple of coats, one from Matalan that I really liked but the arms were just too short on me! And another in Sainsbury's but they only had the black version and I prefer a classic khaki colour parka as it goes with Black or Navy which are the two colours I tend to wear. I found eight coats online that take my fancy.. and may have ordered one of them, can you guess which?
You're probably all thinking I bought number six, and yes if I had £109 spare to spend on a coat, that would be mine, but alas I was looking for more of the under £50 mark. So I've bought coat number......3! It's a fully lined coat from Forever 21. They only had a L left online which is a size 14, and I'm usually a 12, but sometimes lining in coats can make them fit smaller so I'm crossing my fingers. If it doesn't fit I'll just send it back and carry on with my search! I do have my leather sleeved camo jacket from Warehouse that I wear all the time, but now that it's getting properly chilly I want a coat that covers my bum better and has a hood to keep that snow out! Do you buy a new coat every year? What kind of style do you like?
