non beauty favourites

Every month I do my monthly beauty and fashion favourites on my youtube channel, and it's a little too early for my march favourites so I've decided to start a favourites type post situation on the non beauty and fashion favourites in my life each month.
1- Girls.
I have worked my way through season one and two of Girls (last episode came out yesterday) and oh my It's my new favourite. It's very hard for me to describe what it's about unless you watch it. It's based around four girls in their 20s, Hannah, Marnie, Jessa and Shoshanna who live in new york. Like I said it's hard to explain but its hilarious, and just amazing. My favourite characters are Hannah and Adam, and it's pretty awesome that the main character Hannah who is played by Lena Dunham who is 26 wrote and produces the show. It's on HBO but if you are naughty you can watch it online, or maybe netflix has it. I really recommend you watch Girls if you're looking for a new show to watch.  (sexual references in following videos)

2-A Fault In Their Stars
A fault in their stars by John Green has been my book of the month. I got it in February actually, and read it in two days but it's still worth mentioning. I'm pretty sure you all know about John Green (especially if your on youtube) and the book that everyone goes on about is Looking For Alaska. But they didn't have that in store when I went to get it so I got AFITS instead and I loved it. I'll admit, I cried. I won't ruin the plot for those of you who haven't read it, but it's a must read! I recently bought Looking For Alaska, and I'm a bit annoyed because everyone goes on about how amazing it is.. and I haven't got into it yet. I'm not that far in but I'm not hooked yet so i don't really feel like reading on. I will anyway though because I'm sure it will end up being amazing.

3-We're Alive.
We're Alive - A story of survival, is an amazing free podcast you can get on your iphone. I was searching for free audio books one night and came across this Zombie Podcast. It's basically a movie for your ears. "For Army Reserve Soldier Michael Cross, the world as he knew it ended in an instant. One minute he's in college, and the next rioters are roaming the highway around him, breaking into cars and literally tearing people apart. This is the day the dead walk. This is the world of We're Alive."
We're Alive: Features chapters packing performances and sound effects that rival movies and prove that modern audio drama is undead and well. Join our survivors as they band together, struggle to fortify a safe haven known as The Tower and discovers that zombies are far from the worst thing in a post-apocalyptic Los Angeles where the rules of human decency no longer apply.
I have listened to all 36 podcast episodes (series 3 coming soon) and started again from the beginning last week. I listen while falling asleep though I wouldn't advise this if you have nightmares easily as falling asleep to the sounds of zombies and gunshots has proven for some rather interesting dreams! Look it up on your phone right now,  dare you.

4-Rainbow Cake.
If you follow me on instagram you may of seen my rainbow cake spam. Last Friday I just thought to myself, I want to make a multicoloured cake, luckily we had three eggs left so I made a 6,6,6,3 cake and then split the mix into five bowls and mixed pink, yellow, blue, green, and violet food colouring into it then poured each into the cake tin, we'd ran out of icing sugar so I melted down a bar on plain chocolate, poured it on top and then using a heart cookie cutter as a stencil poured chocolate sprinkles on top. It was delicious and from now on all cakes must be rainbows!! Nothing more satisfying then cutting into a cake and seeing five different colours.

5-Skirts.
Big achievement for me, I haven't worn a pair of leggings in two weeks, I think that may be a record for me, in fact for the past three weeks I've either been wearing a skater skirt, dress or my black jeggings (these do not count as leggings.. because they don't.) I bought some of the Primark cosy tights and they are so flufffffy. Defiantly enjoying skirt wearing.

I think that's enough for now, I'm currently making my list for my beauty and fashion march favourites, so that will be up soon on my channel, for now I'm off to listen to disturbed, drink yet another cup of tea and hang the washing out.
